So happy to share this collaboration with Miss Hula Japan 2018 and my dear friend Hinako Kanda. Her elegant, yet powerful hula is sooo mesmerizing... it was an absolute dream to sing and watch her tell the story of this mele so beautifully. x Here’s a song that we both love, written by Frank Kawaikapuokalani Hewett, in memory of his late son and their love that is strung, knotted, and cherished forever like a lei of pua kenikeni.
