Hwa-Rang is one of the 24 forms of the Chang-Hon form system named after the penname of General Choi Hong-Hi, who developed this set of forms. The form is named after the Hwarang, or “Flower Boys“, an elite male youth group which originated in the early 7th century in Silla, an ancient Korean kingdom that lasted until the 10th century.
