The peak of the flood in Norway may be extended due to fresh rain. Fresh rain could extend the duration of flooding in southern Norway. A red flood warning remains in effect in parts of southern Norway on Monday and Tuesday. The orange level has also been set for sections of the Glomma River and Lake Mjøsa. Even when the water recedes, the risk of landslides will also remain. On Tuesday, flood-affected areas will receive additional rainfall. This could lead to rising water levels in areas around Glomma. Nearly 4,000 people were evacuated last week and traffic was severely hampered by flooding and mudslides caused by Hurricane Hans. All major roads closed by the hurricane reopened with small local detours, and train traffic began to return to normal.
