The Great Irish Famine - Short History Documentary

In the 1840s and 1850s, the potato crops across Ireland failed. Whilst the blight affected Europe, it was the Irish Farmers who suffered most. In this video, we will look at the way of life for many of the tenant farmers who were most affected, the response of the British Government and how people managed to survive. This is a tale of profits before the starving but also of how people can come together in times of great suffering.
