Newcastle Utd v Middlesbrough 2008-09

Crunch relegation six-pointer at St James Park as Middlesbrough play Wor-Steel-Workers-Sons Newcastle on a warm Monday night. Boro took a lead very early in the game but Newcastle came back straightaway to equalise and then score two more goals to win 3-1 and effectively seal relegation for Middlesbrough. Newcastle weren’t safe though and found themselves falling through the relegation trapdoor a couple of weeks later.
