As avid mountaineers, Rose and I are both deeply saddened by the story of Sam Sayers, a female hiker who went missing last week while climbing Vesper Peak. Rose and I have both climbed Vesper Peak, and we both understand what it is like to experience the call of the mountains. There is a way of living in the world once you know that these beautiful places exist. We are all better for the moments that we have spent in the mountains. Each of you who looks to higher peaks and feels a flutter in your heart - we are all connected. We are all part of something much bigger than ourselves. Yesterday, Rose and I performed in the North Cascades (It isn’t visible in this video, but we could see Vesper Peak from where we were standing) and we couldn’t help but think of Sam when we played this song. We know that our notes and the energy of our love drifted to her - somewhere in those mountains in the distance. From two adventurous women to another kindred spirit... we hope she hears them. We hope she comes home to her f
