GAME RECAP: Penguins vs. Kings () | Newcomers Fuel Penguins for Sullivan’s 300th Win

The Pittsburgh Penguins returned home to take on the Los Angeles Kings at PPG Paints Arena before embarking on a 5-game road trip out west. Jan Rutta got Pittsburgh on the board early with his first goal in a Penguins jersey. They wouldn’t stop there either as Jake Guentzel and Rickard Rakell each tallied goals of their own to put the Penguins out to a commanding 3-0 lead heading into the first intermission. The scoring continued as Jeff Petry and Ryan Poehling would go on to score their first goals as Penguins as well in the second and third periods of play. And Jeff Carter also found the back of the net against his former team. Tristan Jarry was solid throughout the entire contest, allowing only 1 goal on 40 shots in the Penguins 6-1 victory. This win marked Mike Sullivan’s 300th with Pittsburgh, adding onto the already existing franchise record for a Penguins coach.
