This is a rundown of every hit song present on the MuchMusic Countdown in 2005. Let’s bring some Canadiana to nostalgia playlists! These have been my pet projects for a while because I’m a bit obsessed with old-school MuchMusic/can-con in general. 2005 continued in the pattern of a bit of everything on the charts that made the 2000s what they were. The Canadian indie boom is in full swing with Arcade Fire as the poster children. Hip hop has fully gone pop with The Black Eyed Peas appearing everywhere. Emo/punk-pop bands like Fall Out Boy are the next big thing in rock. American and Canadian Idol alumni hit the big time. Some 80s and 90s pop stars make comebacks.
