Iran’s First Geothermal Power Plant to Be Operative Next year

There is an ever-increasing need for energy, especially electricity, in the world. To satisfy this need, there is a constant search for new sources of energy. Iran’s first geothermal power plant will be operative in less than a year. Geothermal power is power generated by geothermal energy. Geothermal energy is thermal energy generated and stored in the Earth. Geothermal power stations are similar to other steam turbine thermal power stations in that heat from a fuel source (in geothermal’s case, the Earth’s core) is used to heat water or another working fluid. The working fluid is then used to turn a turbine of a generator, thereby producing electricity.
