The German WWII Volkshandgranate 45 Last Ditch Hand Grenade: Overview & History

Today we’re looking at a pretty unusual German WWII hand grenade, made during the last months of WWII, and intended for mass production to arm Volkssturm units defending Germany. The grenade body is made of concrete, impregnated with pieces of metal. It uses the standard German BZ39 or BZ40 friction pull ignitiers. This grenade was made by numerous manufacturers, and are generally unmarked.
