The Homeless of Spain: Degrees Without Jobs, Life on the Streets
Subscribe to @robloak
In Spain, homeless people are often referred to as “Ninis,“ which is a shortened form of the phrase “ni estudia, ni trabaja,“ meaning “neither studies nor works.”
Many of these people hold degrees, but they are unable to find employment due to the economic downturn that started with the Eurozone crisis and continues to the present day, including the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic.
They blend in with the general population, and from the outside, it may not be apparent that they are homeless.
This episode has been filmed in 2018.
