Russia Launches and Tests New Tu-160M Blackjack Supersonic Bomber. Russia has recently relaunched its upgraded and modernized Tu-160M Blackjack strategic bomber from a new production batch. The new Tu-160M Blackjack strategic bomber first took to the skies on Wednesday at the airfield of Tupolev’s Kazan Aviation Plant. Tupulev and Kazan Aviation’s United Aircraft Corporation said the new Tu-160M was flown to an altitude of just over 1,960 feet and was in the air for about 30 minutes.
