Kibinai (kybyn, kibin) is the national dish of the Karaites living in Trakai, Lithuania. Crispy layered dough, juicy meat filling - these pies just melt in your mouth! Traditionally, kibinai were filled with mutton and onion, nowadays these tasty pastries are made with various fillings (different kinds of meat, mushrooms, cottage cheese, vegetables). Kibinai ingredients (15 pcs): Dough: 500 g flour 225 g butter (or margarine) 2 eggs 100 g sour cream 30% fat 1/3 tsp salt Filling: 650 g boneless chicken thighs 170 g onions (~ 2 small onions) 30 ml water (or broth) 25 g butter 7 g salt (~ 1 tsp flat) 1.5 g ground black pepper (~ 1/2 tsp flat) The proportion of the dough to the filling is about 50/50!
