Alicante is a city and port in Spain on the Costa Blanca, the capital of the province of Alicante in the south of the Valencian Community. It is also a historic Mediterranean port. Sitting atop Mount Benacantil, the Castle of Santa Barbara (Castillo de Santa Bárbara) stands like a protector to the city of Alicante. Alicante is also the capital of Alicante Province and because of its enticements and charms, it has moved many a writers and poets to immortalize it in their works. Alicante or ‘Alacant’ is not
