Be-200 - aircraft / boat / firefighter / rescuer

The Be-200 Altair is a Russian amphibious aircraft developed by the Beriev Aircraft Company in the early 1990s. Being a flying boat with jet engines and rather large mass-dimensional features, the Be-200 is one of the most unusual serial production aircraft in the world. The aircraft is capable of operating both on land and on water, performing patrol, search and rescue missions, as well as firefighting operations. At the moment, the main fire-fighting version of the Be-200 carries 12 tons of water, scooping it while gliding directly from the surface of reservoirs. The aircraft is actively operated in Russia and is rented by foreign countries for conducting fire-fighting operations in local zones. The Be-200 used to be assembled at the Irkutsk aircraft plant, but now its production has been transferred to the Beriev Aircraft Company plant in Taganrog. Thank you for watching!
