Caught By The Camera No. 44 (1935)

Three brief stories: Boat Car, Polar Bear and Archer Fish. Titles read: “CAUGHT BY THE CAMERA“. (Boat Car.) Various shots show inventor Mr A H Burgess driving his car onto a small boat; the boat is designed to carry the car and run off the car’s engine. The contraption floats about on the water; it looks like the River Thames around Richmond (?). Reversing the car makes the boat go backwards. (Polar Bear.) At an unidentified zoo we see a small polar bear playing with balloons inside his cage and diving into the water of his pool. He is given a few blocks of ice to play with. It looks extremely cramped. (Archer Fish.) In a tank we see the East Indian Archer Fish shooting water at a dangling spider and finally leaping from the water to catch it (yuk!). FILM ID: A VIDEO FROM BRITISH PATHÉ.
