Chen Taiji Saber & Push Hands

Chen Style Taiji Broadsword is a fierce & forceful routine. Each posture is lifelike. It focused on movement of waving the broadsword round the head. Additionaly, hack, chop, hitch, provoke, roll, close thrust, block, cut, raise overhead, & push 13 different broadsword skills associated with footwork, steps, leg skills, turning over, & Jumping techniques of Chen Style taijiquan. It showed the close structure, hardness with softness, powerful, relax, agile & slowness through out entire routine. This short weapon could be used as long weapon, like a fierce tiger, and the force could cut through . This is said to be a set in the Chen Family tradition originally with only the classic 13 movements of the saber. Later, early in the 20th century, it was added to by Chen Zhao Pi in the 30’s when he taught in Nanjing to become a 22 movement saber. This is indeed a short form with some typical fa Jing thrown in.
