Is Xinjiang safe? Our first hand road trip experience!
Day 6 of my Journey to the West is a travel day. We’re heading further west, driving for hours and hours. Although we’re driving for hours on end, it doesn’t get old at all. With every 100 kilometers we drive it seems like I’m in a different country. The landscape changes continiously. I see desert, rock formations, high peaks with snow, and finally grasslands.
We leave Gansu province behind us and head into Xinjiang. Entering this province is easy for my travel partners, for me it takes quite the effort.
