Da- and Wo-Compounds in German can be difficult to understand, but today’s video will show you how to use all of them and which prepositions can’t use the da- and wo-compounds. This includes the following da-compounds: dafür, darum, dadurch, dagegen, daraus, dabei, damit, danach, davon, dazu, daran, darauf, dahinter, darin, daneben, darüber, darunter, davor, and dazwischen. The wo-compounds include: wofür, worum, wodurch, wogegen, woraus, wobei, womit, wonach, wovon, wozu, woran, worauf, wohinter, worin, woneben, worüber, worunter, wovor, and wozwischen. Da- and Wo-Compounds are adverbs used to replace prepositional phrases in German in order to remove redundant words and make conversations flow better. They are also commonly used in idiomatic expressions.
