Alice Cooper - Pandemonium 2024

I was teen at the time, before the Internet took over, only a lucky few had cable TV. Music was all about reels and cassettes. I had no clue who this crazy dude was, but man, I was really into it after being fed up with all the crap on state TV. Since then, my taste in music has flipped like crazy, but who would’ve guessed back then that Alice would become a classic? Last Saturday went down without any public ‘chicken incidents’, but seriously, I’ve no idea what the shock rock king feeds his Burmese python pet because that serpent was awesome, flicking its tongue and all, soaking in the coastal air. I was blown away by the crowd - nearly-18-year-old emo girls rocking out with oldies on electric mobility. They all knew the lyrics and were belting them out, not caring about hitting the right notes. The sound was freaking awesome: no echoes or overload, just the right level! Who do you gotta be to score Blondie for your warm-up gig? In this crazy show, every song was like its own mini-movie. They’d start with the dude rocking a hussar getup, then switch to a toper-hat and medieval blouse. And get this, they’d slap him in a straitjacket, or chop off his head with a legit guillotine! You should have a wicked sense of humor and be totally into your show for your partner to prance around with a fake decapitated noggin. Christian values? Nah, not here! The stage crew weren’t just walkie-talkie dudes; they were decked out in robes and plague masks. Canes, crutches, whips, and even a taser-bat and stiletto—everything was real and jammed into the floor, swaying. Even the boring old band member naming - got jazzed up with epic solos from each member. “Elected“ – 1973, must be the anthem for all election campaigns, and I bet I know who in the States got inspiration from that track. And the cherry on top? “School’s Out“ morphing into “Another Brick In The Wall.“ Love it! That’s all from me for now.
