Despite its many variations, it never deviates from its essence. It involves training the body’s twelve meridians by opening the yin and locking the yang, then opening the yang and locking the yin, as yin and yang are mutually dependent and regenerative. This leads to proper alignment of the bones and flexibility of the tendons, with the smooth flow of qi and blood. As the tendons lengthen, strength increases, and the body’s knots and blockages are released, allowing for seamless movement throughout the body. The left hand clears away, while the right hand follows through. The elbows stay close to the ribs (with the elbows opening the three gates), moving like a tiger searching the mountains. The shoulder strikes with a reverse yin and yang, with a rolling motion. The front hand strikes while the rear hand delivers force. The legs move like a locust’s (with the hand holding an invisible spear). The Jian Zhu stance is employed, with each step resembling the chicken-leg stance (the feet acting as spears), the spine forming another spear. The three sections of the body merge into one, generating force as if pulling silk. Strength is sought in movement, with the hands and feet drilling into position. The horizontal movements rise and fall naturally, yet the horizontal motion remains hidden within continuous action. The body methods align with Dai Xinyi Quan, with the twelve major forces—leading, intercepting, cutting, and slashing—contained within a single movement. With long-term diligent practice, the adhesive force of Xinyi Quan emerges, which is also a supreme method for health cultivation. Understanding this technique can lead to mastery and enlightenment.

Dai’s Xinyiquan, also known as Xinyiquan or Xinyi Liuhe Quan, is one of the most outstanding internal martial arts in the Chinese martial arts. For hundreds of years, this boxing has been kept secret within the Dai family in Qixian, Shanxi province. It has a long history, rich content, and mysterious and unfathomable techniques, combining the theories and techniques of Buddhism, Taoism, and Confucianism, making it a scientific martial art that focuses on both internal and external training. The techniques follow the objective rules of nature, based on the theory of the balance of yin and yang of heaven and earth, and the theory of the five elements of gold, wood, water, fire, and earth, which are the essence of Dai’s Xinyiquan. Dai’s Xinyiquan is one of the three famous internal martial arts (Tai Chi, Bagua, Xingyi), and is the ancestor of Xingyi Quan. Internally, it emphasizes the harmony of heart and intention, intention and Qi, and Qi and strength (these are the internal three harmonies), while externally, it emphasizes the unity of hands and feet, elbows and knees, and shoulders and hips (these are the external three harmonies). Therefore, people also call Dai’s Xinyiquan the Xinyi Liuhe Quan, or Xinyiquan of the Six Harmonies.
