Established in 1738, Mariinsky Ballet (formerly known by its Soviet name, the Kirov Ballet) has produced some of the greatest dancers and choreographer in the history of the art form. Via the collaborative efforts of choreographers Marius Petipa and Lev Ivanov, Mariinsky Ballet refined and established the spellbinding version of Tchaikovsky?s Swan Lake in 1895.
