Blackpool, Lancashire. Start of the 3rd round F.A. (Football Association) Cup match between Blackpool and York City in Blackpool. LV. Blackpool in light shirts kick-off. LV. Crowd. SV. towards, Stanley Matthews running with the ball, he passes inside but a close packed York defence quickly stops the inside forwards. Matthews collects again, he centres, but Howe is there to head away. Matthews again receives but a quick tackle by Storey robs Matthews and Howe is there again to boot the ball up field. SV.
