In this unreal engine tutorial, we are going to implement a helicopter flying system from scratch. Here, these are the steps I am going to take in the implementation process
1. Setup the helicopter as a pawn blueprint which can be controlled by the player.
2. Setup the animation blueprint which allow us to dynamically change the rotation speed of main blades and the rear blades.
3. Implement the helicopter engine sound and fan sounds as the rpm of the engine increases
4. Implement taking off the helicopter from ground when the required rpm is reached.
5. Implement maneuvering of helicopter in air
6. Implement the helicopter body dynamics to represent accurate helicopter physics such as the the way helicopter body rotate and move according to the movement
7. Implement a way to gradually decrease the fan speed and engine sounds once it is landed and completely stop the engine.
