#vancouver #storm #bcstorm On Sunday, December 18, drivers have been experiencing major delays and spun-out vehicles as a snowstorm spreads across Metro Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada. Local authorities issued a snowfall warning for the region at 5 am as an arctic front moves west driven by strong winds. In North Vancouver, some locals on the road shared videos and photos of the stalled road conditions as early as 7:15 am. Drivers with vehicles that are not properly equipped with winter tires are advised to avoid the Highway 1 section. The heavy snow is also disrupting traffic towards Vancouver airport. The West Vancouver Police Department is also asking residents to stay home because major roads have been impacted by the snowy conditions. In addition, more than 12,000 homes in North Vancouver were briefly without power Sunday, due to a substation fault around 1 pm. Forecasters warned an arctic front would deliver heavy snow, with up to 15 centimeters expected in the Fraser Valley and up to 10 centimeters expected in parts of Metro Vancouver.
