“I Just Want To Understand...“

I’m really quite proud of this video, because I feel like it has a good message. I feel it brings awareness to a reality that is often ignored until it’s too late. Suicide and depression are not things to be taken lightly, ever. In a survey of 15,000 grade 7 to 12 students in British Columbia, 34% knew of someone who had attempted or died by suicide; 16% had seriously considered suicide; 14% had made a suicide plan; 7% had made an attempt and 2% had required medical attention due to an attempt. When I was in Sunday School, in the 7th grade, I remember a kid asking the group to pray for his friend, because he had killed himself. He was 13. A couple of years ago, I went through a very dark phase of my own life. I’m so glad that I’m still here today, happy and healthy and surrounded by people love me. Suicide is never a solution.
