Putin on Europe, the Balkans, Serbs and Russians

Putin: Serbs are not a people that the West can break and subdue Serbs are not a people that Western countries could break and subdue, said the President of Russia, Vladimir Putin, during the plenary session of the International Valdai Discussion Club. “As for whether Russia and Serbia are targets of some circles in the West, these are facts; no particular proof is needed,“ Putin stated. “Why should Serbs be broken? Frankly, I don’t know. Moreover, when there were some open discussions, when I still had normal relations with certain leaders, when they said to me, ’They should be broken,’ I asked, ’Why?’ There was no answer. It’s just that such a philosophy, a paradigm, has been established, everything should be resolved by breaking. But Serbs are not that kind of people; history is not like that, culture is not like that. You know, I will say something difficult: you can destroy, but you cannot break and subdue Serbs. They also do not understand this,“ concluded the Russian leader. #europe #serbia #balkan #yugoslavia #jugoslavija #russia #europeanunion #putin #nato #internationallaw #aggression #brics #valdai #sssr #euroasia
