Russia: Repatriation сeremony of remains of Napoleon’s General Gudin held in Moscow

Subscribe to our channel! A solemn ceremony of repatriation from Russia to France of the remains of General Charles-Etienne Gudin took place in Moscow’s Vnukovo-3 on Tuesday. At the airport, the funeral cortege was met with all honours by reenactors in army uniforms from the War of 1812. The coffin, covered with the French flag, was brought on a gun carriage. According to Elizaveta Peskova, vice-president of the Foundation for the development of Franco-Russian historical Initiatives, the process of organising the transfer of the remains to the French side turned out to be a difficult task.
