How to Ride 200km for the Global Fat Viking – Preparation and Execution

I rode 200km, or 125 miles, for the Global Fat Viking. This video shows how I prepared and executed the ride, followed by a summary of how it went. There is a complete list of everything I brought including clothing, food, and gear. If you want to know how to ride 200km in the winter, this video should be able to help with some strategies on how to do that. I show how the ride progresses and the challenges I faced in the cold -20⁰C weather and strong winds with -30⁰C windchill. I finish with a summary of how my preparation went, some words of wisdom, and a warning for those wanting to take on an adventure such as this. Here is my Strava link for the ride: Here’s a link to the Fat Viking Facebook page: Video highlights: 0:19 Intro to the Global Fat Viking 2:35 Clothes 5:24 Food 6:55 Gear 8:47 The bike 9:51 The Ride!
