The first race of the event was the Manufacturers Cup, bringing together the top 12 ranked car companies, including GTWS official partners Toyota, Genesis, and Mazda. Each manufacturer fielded a team of three drivers, representing each region from the Online Qualifiers. For Montreal, the teams were represented by one of the three drivers, with a return to the previous “endurance style” three driver teams at the World Finals later in the year. Brazil’s Igor Fraga returned to the top step of the podium, securing a decisive victory for Team Lexus at the Autódromo De Interlagos.
