Acer Monitor Fires Investigated: Blown Capacitors on Acer XV340CK

Claims of Acer’s XV340CK (Pbmiipphzx) catching on fire caught our attention recently. We bought 4 of these monitors (including 2 that burned up) to try and identify the cause and incident rate. We inspect the power board of each for the point of failure (it’s the same), then buy two retail units that are brand new to attempt to recreate the issue.
