London To Brighton Walk & Cuts (1926)

Full title reads: “London to Brighton Walk. W.F. Baker (Queen’s Park Harriers) wins famous walk fro 3rd year in succession from field of over 100 competitors“. London, Brighton and various places inbetween in Sussex. M/S of lots of speed walkers crossing Westminster Bridge. Good view of Big Ben and Houses of Parliament in background. There are lots of buses and taxis also crossing bridge. Panning shot follows one walker down country lane, he takes a sponge from race steward to mop his brow. Similar shots of two other walkers. High angled L/S of winning walker - Mr. Baker - racing down Brighton sea front. Vast cheering crowds have gathered to watch him, some even jog or cycle along next to him. Cuts / out takes start at 01:18:02. High angled M/S of Mr. B being lead through crowd at end of race.
