Hiking into Linville Gorge after an ice storm.

We hiked into the Linville Gorge Wilderness area just after a February 2012 combination snowstorm/ice storm. First there was a six-inch snowfall followed by a brief icing event before the temperatures plunged again below freezing. It made for a truly unique hiking experience in the wilderness.
