M 7.8 & 7.5 Earthquake Hits Turkey and Syria Part 3 Feb 6, 2023 | Kahramanmaraş Depremi

In Turkey there have been at least 12,391 deaths across 10 provinces and an additional 62,914 people were injured. At least 13.5 million people and 4 million buildings were affected. Around 11,302 buildings collapsed in 10 provinces across Turkey. Many buildings were destroyed in Adıyaman and Diyarbakır,where a shopping mall collapsed. Diyarbakır Fortress, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, was also partly destroyed. In Syria at least 3,508 people were killed and 3,749 were injured in Syria. The Syrian Ministry of Health recorded over 1,570 earthquake-related deaths and 1,449 injuries in the provinces of Aleppo, Idlib, Latakia, Hama and Tartus. Hundreds died in the cities of Aleppo, Hama and Latakia. In rebel-held areas, at least 1,910 people died, while 2,200 others were injured.
