UKRAINE EUROVISION 2022 - REACTING TO KALUSH ORCHESTRA ‘STEFANIA’ (FIRST LISTEN)

Hi guys, and welcome back to my channel! If you’re new here, my name’s Rachel and I’m a huge Eurovision fan as well as a musician. In todays video, I reacted to for the first time, to Ukraines entry for the upcoming song contest. After Alina Pash withdrew amid a whirlwind of controversy, the runners up ‘Kalush Orchestra’ were selected with their entry ‘Stefania’. The song has a thrilling hip hop beat coupled with a catchy hook, uniting the traditional singing style and melodies with a modern, rap twist. The flute passage is also very hypnotic and brings identity and a unique folk element to the song. Despite the lack of tonal depth, the song makes up for this by pairing a catchy chorus with an interesting rap and flute breakdown. I overall really enjoyed it and thought was a decent selection for Ukraine.
