There’s Nothing Like AC Unity

From top to bottom, AC Unity is an unfinished game with more bugs than an ant colony and a line of code that was probably first written in Braille and then translated to the devs by a dyslexic monkey. It is a miracle the parkour or the stealth works at all with how complex and messy it is for a game of its time, the story is the definition of the word mid, and there is at least one game in the Assassin’s Creed series that handles one of the pillars of the assassin fantasy better than AC Unity: The stealth is more developed in AC Brotherhood, the parkour is more “parkourable“ in AC 1, the story is better in Black Flag, the voice acting is better in Origins, and the graphics are better in Odyssey. AC 1 serves a truer assassin fantasy, AC 2 gives a better look at the development of an assassin in training, and AC Syndicate has better-designed black box missions. Apart from customization, Unity is not the best at doing anything. And yet... this is one of my favorite games of all time and is in my top 3 AC games after Brotherhood and Origins. And, by an extraordinarily large margin, I have spent the most hours playing AC Unity over any other videogame. To me, I think AC Unity is a masterpiece that was shot in the leg on its way out of the factory, beaten over the head with a baseball bat, and then told to stand proud for all of us to see. It’s broken, I get it. But at the same time, it is an experience that is greater than the sum of its parts. When I play it, when I enter that rumored flow state that oh so few people have had the privilege of experiencing, I feel what no other Assassin’s Creed game could ever make me feel. A 9-year-old game STILL feels like a next-gen entry in the franchise, I still feel like I am either telling or uncovering a story before me in every street of Paris. Out of all of the assassins, Arno was the one who always felt the most “mine“. The customization really lets me make Arno more of a shell for my own preferences in what I would want an assassin in Paris to look like. And to me, that is something that really adds to the addictive quality of the game., It’s the closest I would ever want to get to the notion of making your own assassin. In this video, I wanted to make a more slow-paced routine, using more classic assassin things like social stealth, money bombs, some cool parkour, and berserker darts. I usually make much faster videos, with more aggressive stealth, but I wanted to slow down just to appreciate the mechanics that truly fall in line with an assassin (not the style I normally use doesn’t, only that I usually play more like how I think Altair would complete a mission). I also really wanted to bask in the beauty of my new custom channel outfit you see in this video :) Made by KinimodXD and LordofThe9. Assassin’s Creed Unity is an action-adventure video game developed by Ubisoft Montreal and published by Ubisoft. It was released in November 2014 for PlayStation 4, Windows, and Xbox One, and in December 2020 for Stadia. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- CHANNEL DISCORD: PAYPAL ME: SUPPORT THE CHANNEL: Subscribe: Memberships: AC Unity Playlist: My Instagram: ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Affiliate Links MY PC RTX 3060: RAM: Intel Core i7: Laptop: MY EQUIPMENT Headphones: Hard Drives: Microphone: Pop Shield: Book of Altair: AC GAMES AC Valhalla: AC Odyssey: AC Origins: AC Unity: AC Syndicate:
