This progression is full of really useful chord runs, inversions and walking bass lines.. all essential elements for that authentic pre-bop swing sound. One thing I forgot to mention is that in the lesson materials I’ve included a transcription of the melody, plus Django’s fantastic 2 chorus solo (that we’ll look at in detail in the next lesson). I’d always recommend learning the basic melody so that you can play the “head” of the tune effectively.
