Super Bowl 2016

Three years after Beyoncé headlined the Super Bowl halftime show, she returned to steal the Super Bowl 50 show from actual headliners Coldplay. Chris Martin and co. opened things up by playing a few songs with the help of a giant, colorfully-suited marching band, after which Bruno Mars came out clad in black leather to perform “Uptown Funk” with Mark Ronson DJing. Finally, Queen Bey emerged onto the field with a team of backup dancers and proceeded to kill it with a rendition of her politically-charged new single “Formation.” The show also included a brief montage featuring highlights from past halftime shows, including clips of Michael Jackson, the Rolling Stones, and Whitney Houston (but not Janet Jackson).
