With No Orders, Factories Shutter: : China No Longer the US’s Top Importer, Worse in 10 Years

China’s economy is facing great difficulties, with a large number of factories closing down and a significant number of workers becoming unemployed. Foreign trade exports are pessimistic. Recent data indicates that Mexico has taken China’s place as the largest exporter of goods to the United States. This marks the first time since 2002 that the United States has imported more goods from Mexico than from China. This change reflects the increasingly tense relations between the US and China, as well as a trend towards the US preferring to import goods from countries that are more friendly and closer in proximity. #chinaobserver All rights reserved.
