CHOPIN - PRELUDE (E MINOR Op. 28 No. 4) - ORGAN - JONATHAN SCOTT - HOLY CROSS CHURCH, WARSAW, POLAND

In the church of The Holy Cross, Warsaw, Poland where Chopin’s heart rests, we had the special opportunity to film Jonathan’s arrangement (originally for solo piano) of Chopin’s Prelude in E Minor Op. 28 No. 4 on the Pipe Organ built by Cäcilia Organ Builders, Salzburg. The piece is especially poignant as it was requested, by Chopin, to be played on the organ at his funeral. It was performed at his funeral service on 30th August 1849 by the organist Lefébure-Wély at the Church of the Madeleine, Paris, France. Chopin was buried in Paris but he requested that his heart be taken to Poland and buried in a local church. Chopin was also an organist who played the organs in the area around this church in Warsaw. We hope you enjoy it. Jonathan & Tom The Score of this arrangement is available in “The Sometime Organist“ digital PDF book here: If you enjoy our videos and would like to support us pleas
