0:00 Introduction 1:08 J.S. Bach – Prelude, Cello Suite No. 1 BWV1007 As part of Otto Hashmi’s headline performance at Leighton House for Glory to Sound. Whilst written in G major, this performance sounds in E major at A=415 as it is performed on a Voice Flute after Denner made by Jack Darach. Otto Hashmi is a recorder player and solo artist from London, forging a sound between popular and classical music on an instrument often maligned in both worlds. His upcoming EP ’Music for the End Times’ explores the dystopian mood of our current society, taking equal influence from the sounds of London’s techno clubs as well as recorder music of antiquity. He is currently studying at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama, taking a masters in Advanced Instrumental Studies on Recorder. He is a member of the Royal Academy of Music based ensemble Londoninium Consort, who perform early music with influences from Folk and Contemporary music.
