The opening of this piece is based upon the Folías echa para mi Señora Doña Tarolilla de Carallenos (1650, 10 variations) by Andrea Falconieri with an intro and some inprovisation in the middle of the composition. The main body of the composition is based upon the later Folía frame as classified by Richard Hudson.
