Amazing metallic live performance at the Bang Your Head Festival in Germany in July 2014 by “Axel Rudy Pell“ and his band. Guest star was the incredible “John Lawton“, one of the top rock/hard rock vocalists, in the same breath as David Byron. The years change everyone and everything, here “Lawton“ is nearing 70 and can’t hit the high notes, but the sparkle and volume in his voice is still the same. That’s why he very cleverly replaces the high-pitched ah ah ah with the middle oh oh oh and uniquely drives his performance with the inimitable heavy and deep feel of his voice, which just the thought of it makes me shudder, just as I did when I first heard him in the distant 1977. My heartfelt thanks to “Axel“, not only for his great performance of “Sympathy“, but especially for giving me the opportunity to have a great Blu-ray video performance of my favorite singer “John Lawton“, a few years before he passed away...
