The Remo Four, Smile! 1967 (vinyl record)

Artist (group): The Remo Four Album name: Smile! Year: 1967 Genre: beat, rhythm and blues Country: England Duration: 59 minutes About the English singer Tommy Quickly, whose real name is Thomas Quigley, very little is known. Despite the fact that the Internet, it would seem, can provide the seeker with a lot of necessary and useful information, it is absolutely impossible to find any worthwhile information about Tommy. It is known that Tommy Quickly is from Liverpool, where he was born in 1945. He began his career in the early sixties. In 1963 a young singer became interested in Brian Epstein, a manager, under whose strict guidance such performers as The Beatles, Gerry & The Pacemakers, Billy Kramer & The Dakotas and some others already existed. Tommy Quickly was lucky to be familiar with them. Before exploring Epstein, who gave Tommy a great chance to gain popularity, he sang with the band The Challengers, who soon changed its name to Tommy Quickly & The Stops. Epstein, who was very critical of his charges, liked Tommy with his voice, who could not be better suited for performing rhythm and blues songs, and his appearance — Tommy looked very attractive and young, much younger than his years. However, Epstein preferred Tommy not to sing rhythm and blues, but pop rock. It is not known how much this decision hurt the singer.
