KOSHEEN ’Hide U’ @Dancestar Music Awards

- The Dancestar Music Awards were created by ‘MOBO Awards’ Co-Founder, Andy Ruffell, and launched in the year 2000 in London. At this time Electronic Music was seen as an underground scene. The mission of the awards show was to create a televised platform to showcase the talent and diversity of the Electronic Music community whilst providing unrivaled exposure for DJ’s and artists that at the time MTV wouldn’t play! During this period in Electronic Music’s development, It was an incredibly difficult task trying to convince broadcasters of the power and reach of Electronic Music, most TV executives had never heard of the top DJ’s and they certainly weren’t aware that even then, festivals like Ultra in Miami were pulling in 60,000 people and Fat Boy Slim recently attracted 1m people to the beach in Brighton, England. The show was launched on a grand scale in 2000 at Alexander Palace, London with over 5,000 industry attendees and 21 TV Cameras capturing every angle. Certainl
