Structure of a Servo Drive with Harmonic Speed Reducer

In this video we will look at basic components of a high-precision servo drive based on a Servosila harmonic speed reducer. Such a servo drive might be used in a robotic arm manipulator or a CNC machine. Servosila Harmonic Speed Reducers are created for those applications where space is at premium while lowest possible weight and minimal backlash are the key design drivers. Lets look at how Servosila harmonic speed reducer works. I put two marks on the gears of the reducer. If one rotates the reducer’s wave generator, the output side of the reducer rotates in the opposite direction. The speed is reduced, and the torque is magnified. A brushless electric motor is typically used to rotate the wave generator of a harmonic speed reducer. Servosila brushless motor controllers shown in the background are well suited for controlling motors that drive Servosila speed reducers. A beauty of harmonic speed reducers is their zero backlash. Zero backlash makes the harmonic
