How making music can create a New life | Mohamad Abdul Rahim | TEDxYouth@Groningen

Mohamad abdul Rahim, a Syrian refugee who lives in the Netherlands, recounts his thrilling journey as he made seven attempts to travel from Turkey to Greece on a rubber boat. In the refugee center he and other refugees became part of the New life choir. A way to learn the Dutch language and culture, give something positive back to his new home country, and to build his new life. Mohamad Abdul Rahim is a teacher of English. In 2010, He graduated from Tishreen University in Latakia Syria. He went on to obtain a Master’s in Methods of Teaching from the same university. From 2012 to 2015, He accomplished a Master’s Course in Applied Linguistics at Lebanese University in Beirut, Lebanon. For three years now, Mohamad has been teaching English at Noorderpoort Kunst & Multimedia in the Netherlands, as well as the Hanzehogeschool University.
