Known as “The Red Priest“ because of his red hair, Vivaldi wrote the famous “The Four Seasons” (“I Quattro Stagioni“) in 1723, one the most popular Vivaldi pieces. Comprised of four concertos, The Four Seasons is one of the earliest examples of “Program Music“ -- music that evokes scenes.
