There are many scenic roads in Norway, but not all of them are open in winter and even in early spring. National road number 15 (RV 15) is important as it connects the city of Stryn on the banks of the Nordfjord with the E6. In the area of ​​the Grotli Ski Resort, the road rises to a height of 900 meters. This is where the hardest part of the journey is. A harsh region where winds blow and a lot of precipitation falls, as evidenced by impressive snowdrifts on both sides of the road. But Norwegians love their nature in its primeval beauty and this is a popular place for small summer cottages that are heavily covered with snow, but the locals do not lose heart and dig up their houses when they come for the weekend, and they reach them on skis. In summer, road 15 is very popular with tourists, because it is in front of the Oppljostunnelen there is a turn to Geiranger and scenic tourist road number 63 (FV 63). But in winter it is closed and this is another Norwegian attraction - guess the way by the signs sticking out from under the snow. But at the turn of the mountain, there is a hint, since the silhouette of the road under the thickness of snow is already a little visible. But hopes for an early opening are not worth it. It is now March, and the road to Geiranger will not be dug up until May or even early June. And now the life along the road has stopped, the campsites are empty and waiting for the tourist season, the waterfalls are still frozen and only blue rivers murmur and carve their way in the ice that bound the rivers. What exactly tells us that spring is near! The sun is warming and the snow on the tops is slowly melting.
