JARV IS...’ epic concert film BEYOND THE PALE… LIVE FROM THE CENTRE OF THE EARTH was broadcast in 2020. This version of Swanky Modes is taken from the same stunning film recorded in The Peak Cavern in Castleton, Derbyshire, England. Jarvis says of the track, “Swanky Modes was a women’s clothes shop in Camden that I remember from living in the area just after I left St Martin’s School of Art in the early 1990s.“ Swanky Modes has also been remixed by the reggae pioneer and innovator, Dennis Bovell. Bovell’s reimagining of Swanky Modes nods both at the original track’s illicitness and Bovell’s own musical roots, as it takes the song into a new, truly original space with its haunting mix of darkness and light.
